Church settings control information used in reports and governance, including opening balances and account defaults.

Opening balances

• Opening balances are recorded per financial year.
• They represent the bank balance at the start of the FY.
• They are not income or spending.

Default bank account

The default bank account controls which bank account is pre-selected when entering a new transaction. If your church has more than one bank account, confirm the correct default is set here. This setting is managed by the Treasurer or administrator.

Bank account governance and dormancy

Accounts may be marked dormant when no longer in use, to keep dropdowns clear while retaining history.
