Church Cashbook Admin Manual
Database-stored activity log intended for human-readable summaries. Superadmin only.
What is captured
The activity log records a human-readable summary of every significant user action across the system: transaction entries, amendments, voids, Gift Aid operations, user management changes, and role assignments. Each entry includes the user, the church in scope, the event type, a summary, and a timestamp.
- Useful for operational oversight — "what has been happening in this parish this month?"
- Useful for light investigation — "who entered this transaction and when?"
- Visible to Superadmins across all churches; church-level admins see only their own church
Limitations
The activity log is summary-only and not suitable for forensic investigation. It does not capture the before/after state of a changed field, only that a change occurred. For detailed investigation of a security event, use the file-based error logs (Admin → System Info) in conjunction with the activity log.
